Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using Nuclei ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
What Nuclei is
Nuclei is a study aid. It reads a question you submit and returns a step-by-step explanation followed by a final answer, to help you understand and revise the underlying material. The explanation is generated by a third-party AI model.
Academic integrity
Nuclei is built for revision and self-study, not for use during a graded assessment. You agree not to use the Service to:
- Gain an unfair advantage in an exam, test, quiz, coursework submission, or any other academic assessment;
- Submit Nuclei's output as your own work where your institution's rules prohibit outside assistance;
- Access the Service during a proctored or closed-book assessment.
You're responsible for knowing and following your school or institution's own academic integrity policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts we reasonably believe are being used to violate this section.
Accounts
You need an account to use Nuclei, and you must verify your email address before you can log in. You're responsible for the activity on your account and for keeping your password secure. One account per person — creating additional accounts to get around a suspension or ban is not allowed, and doing so is grounds for a permanent ban of every account involved.
Acceptable use
Alongside the academic-integrity rule above, you agree not to:
- Submit content that is illegal, or that you don't have the right to share;
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or overload the Service or its API;
- Use the Service to generate content intended to harm someone else.
Prompts are limited to 200 characters (50 characters of additional context when you attach an image). Submissions that the AI model flags as off-topic, harmful, or attempts to change its instructions are logged for review and charged a penalty fee in tokens, to deter abuse.
Tokens
Each account has a balance of tokens used to pay for solve requests. Different explanation levels cost different amounts. Tokens have no cash value, are non-transferable, and cannot be withdrawn or converted to currency.
Your content
You keep ownership of the questions and content you submit. By submitting content, you grant Nuclei permission to process it — including transmitting it to our AI provider — for the purpose of generating your explanation and answer, and to store it as described in our Privacy Policy.
AI-generated output
Explanations and answers are generated by an AI model and can be incomplete or wrong. Nuclei is a study aid, not a substitute for your teacher, textbook, or your own judgment. Always double-check anything important against a trusted source.
Changes & availability
Nuclei is under active development. Features, limits, and pricing may change, and the Service may occasionally be unavailable for maintenance or updates.
Termination
You can stop using Nuclei and request deletion of your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including academic-integrity or ban-evasion violations. Accounts deleted for a violation may have their email address and IP address added to a permanent banlist.
Limitation of liability
Nuclei is provided "as is." To the extent allowed by law, we aren't liable for outcomes resulting from relying on AI-generated explanations or answers, including academic outcomes.
What we collect and store
Here is everything the Service stores about you and why. Nothing on this list is hidden, and nothing outside this list is stored.

What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
- We don't store your password in plain text.
- We don't keep uploaded images after we've processed them.
Who we share data with
We use a small number of third-party services to run Nuclei. Each only sees what's needed for its job:
- DeepSeek — receives your question text and any image you attach, to generate the explanation and answer.
- Brevo — sends account emails (email verification). Receives your email address only.
- Cloudflare — provides the signup bot-check (Turnstile), CDN, and DNS. Sees your IP address when you visit the site.
- Oracle Cloud — hosts the API server that stores your account and solve data.
Cookies and local storage
Nuclei sets one cookie (token) which keeps you signed in between visits. It's HTTP-only, secure, and set on our API domain — no JavaScript on the page can read it. We also use your browser's local storage for two things: remembering your cookie consent choice, and remembering UI preferences. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies are used.
How long we keep data
Your account data, prompts, and linked IP addresses are kept while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove the account and all of your solves. The email address and IP are retained on our banlist if the account was deleted for a violation, so the same person can't just sign up again.
Your rights
You can request a copy of the data we hold on you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and everything associated with it. Some data — like banlist entries — may be retained where we need it to enforce a ban or to meet a legal obligation.
Security
Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2-SHA512 using 100,000 iterations and a per-user random salt. All traffic between your browser and our servers is encrypted with TLS. Your login session is stored in a signed, HTTP-only cookie that JavaScript on the page cannot read.
Children's privacy
Nuclei is intended for students who are old enough to create an online account under their local law — typically 13+ in most countries, or 16+ in the EU. If you believe someone younger has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects what data we collect or how we use it, we'll notify users before the change takes effect.
